The vision of Youth for Christ is, as part of the body of Christ, to see every young person in every people group in every nation have the opportunity to make an informed decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ and to become a part of a local church.

Bay Area Youth for Christ has been seeing hope and potential in young people for over forty years.

Consider the following:

• One fifth of the teen population is considered at high risk for suicide.
• Suicide is the #1 cause of death among teenagers age 15 - 19.
• One in five (20%) murdered juveniles were killed by a juvenile.
• 22% of juvenile crime occurs between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on school days.
• The average age a teenager takes their first drink is 13.
• Alcohol/drunk driving is the #1 cause of death for young people age 10 - 21.
• 90% of all rapes occur when the victim, assailant or both have used alcohol.
• The average age a teenager becomes sexually active is 15 for girls and 14 for boys.
• Every day 2,134 teens drop out of school.

In a world where young people are often left hopeless, YFC believes we MUST see the hope and potential in every young person.
