My internship with DCLA 2003 was the first time that I had ever worked in a Christian organization. I was overjoyed to discover what a wonderful working environment YFC was. Praying together as a team, encouraging one another with thoughtful words and frequent hugs, and knowing that we were all striving together to make a difference in the lives of youth was an amazing experience. Through that experience, I came to discover what a great blessing it is to work with others who share the same passions and goals as you.. . . As a Public Relations intern, I was privileged to be in constant contact with the local media in the various cities where we held our conferences. Though it pushed me way beyond my comfort zone, it was wonderful to hear from secular newspapers and TV stations how impressed and inspired they were by our conferences, our mission, and the ways in which we were impacting the lives of so many youth. One of the highlights of the summer for me was the last Big Room of DCLA 2003 in Washington D.C. It was amazing! We had all 9,000 youth together at one time, worshipping, praying, and even crying together. Seeing thousands of youth welcoming the Lord into their hearts for the first time and re-dedicating their hearts to the Lord re-affirmed my faith in the young people of today. My internship with YFC was one of the best experiences of my life, and definitely the best summer I have ever had. I would strongly suggest to anyone that they should pursue an internship with YFC theyre guaranteed to be blessed beyond their wildest expectations! |
