Before I dedicated my life to God, I had a difficult time dealing with life's troubles, which caused emotional pain. I was sad, angry, alone, and fearful. I didn't know how to overcome fear, deal with pain, or even understand why bad things happen to good people. I just assumed good people live good lives.

After becoming a Christian, I knew my life was going to be different. I was going to deal with situations in a different way. My first experience was a big test. I had a hard time dealing with my mother's new relationship. I felt like someone was taking my mom away. I experienced many emotions - anger, loneliness, and fear of loss. Dealing with it was hard at first, but I knew I was a new creation and things would be different this time. I dealt with the emotions by praying, singing worship songs, and reading my Bible. At that moment I knew I could do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

As I walk through my Christian life, I know that God doesn't promise that our lives will be perfect. But He does promise He will work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. One thing I do know for sure is that when I committed my life to Christ things weren't easy. But I know I have someone who loves me right by my side to help me walk through all life's hard times forever. I will never walk alone.
