The YFC/USA Missionary Deployment Division connects staff to the bigger picture of the YFC worldwide movement.

  1. In the early days YFC spread rapidly across the globe. Foundational to this rapid growth was the belief in indigenous leadership. As YFC spread to each new country, local nationals were trained to the lead the movement. You can order the YFC History video from the NSC.

  2. Today over 100 national programs are a part of YFC International which is organized into four Areas: 1) Africa, 2) Asia-Pacific, 3) Europe-Mideast- N.Africa, and 4) Americas. The Area Director for the Americas is Geordon Rendle. National Directors report to the Area Director much like an Executive Director reports to the National Field Director. Area Directors report to the International President, David Wraight from Australia, who moved his family to Denver after taking the position.
  3. The mission of YFC/USA's Missionary Deployment Division is to participate in the evangelism of youth around the world by sending U.S. citizens to serve the ministries of YFC International through the World Outreach Department and YFC/USA’s Military Youth Ministry. 4. The vision statement and goals coming from the future search Worldwide Change Design Team (WCDT) was as follows: Our vision is that every YFC/USA staff person will become more aware, will tangibly serve, and become an integral participant in the worldwide YFC movement. 5. Paul Nurmi
To help the YFC/USA implement these goals with USA ministry centers and staff, Paul Nurmi was hired as the World Link Director. As a World Outreach missionary, Paul raises all of his financial support to fulfill this role. Paul is a 34-year veteran of YFC and served for 25 years as an Executive Director. His family includes his wife Virginia and three adult children. Paul has a heart for the YFC worldwide ministry and has managed 21 Project Serve trips with participation of over 500 students and adults. He previously served with YFCI as the Associate Liaison Director for Africa and recruited college students for stateside and international internships.

  6. One of Paul’s roles will be to promote YFCI’s World Link program with ministry centers and staff. World Link connects USA centers and staff with YFC International programs for partnership (which could include staff and student exchanges, helping the national program or individual staff person financially, etc.) For more information on this opportunity please email Paul Nurmi or you may call him at 217.377.2155.

  7. YFC Protocol: Just a friendly reminder, whenever a USA staff or ministry center makes a trip into a country where YFC International has a program, it is proper protocol to contact the National Director. Please contact your World Outreach office for assistance in making the phone call and/or email connections prior to your trip. You may reach us at 303.843.9000.
