The Ministries of Youth for Christ - Imperial Valley
The vision of Youth for Christ is, as a part of the body of Christ, to see every young person in every people group in every nation have the opportunity to make an informed decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ and to become a part of a local church. Because the needs and longings of young people are unique to their time, place, and life experience, Youth for Christ always seeks to share the Good News about Jesus in a way that is relevant to them.

YFC has ministries in cities thoughout the Valley which include Campus Life clubs in schools throughout the Valley. The young people in every city have needs that are somewhat unique to them. For that reason, local YFC ministries vary from location to location.

The variety of ministries you can learn about below reflect this commitment. Explore our website to find how these ministries are effecting the lives of thousands of young people Valley wide.

Campus Life | MS CLMS

Campus Life MS offers junior high and middle school students opportunities for friendship, fun, and growth. Club meetings can be a great time to meet and "hang out" with kids from school, and a chance to talk about what's important to them. Besides weekly, topical meetings, there are area events, trips and special outings designed for the needs of young teens and the chance to get to know kids from other area schools. Staff and adult volunteers find creative ways to build relationships and communicate the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Staff and volunteers provide leadership that kids can rely upon, as well as, providing a positive role model.

The YFC Campus Life ministry combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help senior high young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Like every ministry of YFC, Campus Life seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found as life-long followers of Jesus Christ. Campus Life is a place for high school students to have fun, make friends and talk about matters to other high school students. Campus Life provides a balanced approach ? physical, mental, social and spiritual ? to give teens the skills and hope they need to live in a turbulent world. Campus Life club generally meets in various homes each week, hosted by students. In some cities, Campus Life may own a building they use to host club meetings, or have access to a school gym, cafeteria or classroom, or, less frequently, churches.

Youth Guidance

The YFC Youth Guidance ministry-through institutional, juvenile justice, or social service agency contacts and connects trained adults with young people to help them make good choices and establish a solid foundation in life. Like every ministry of YFC, Youth Guidance seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found as life-long followers of Jesus Christ. It is estimated that 25% of our young people today are deemed at-risk youth, according to the National Research Council Panel on High-Risk Youth (1995). The National Youth Guidance Department has defined an at-risk young person as a young person who has experienced significant damage and is likely to damage the lives of others.A significantly damaged life is defined as the presence of negative influences (or the absence of positive influences) that increase the likelihood of destructive life choices.

City Life

The purpose of City Life is to help young people to develop attitudes and behavior patterns that allow them to function more constructively in society.  The City Life program emphasizes the following: 1) Teaching basic life skills. 2) Providing an opportunity for a relationship with a caring adult role model. 3) Promoting and developing positive self-image through Jesus Christ. 4) Creating opportunities for positive peer group experiences. 5) Sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While all of the Youth for Christ ministries share the same purpose they meet and interact with students in different areas.  City Life meets students in their neighborhood or small community.
