The Youth for Christ (YFC) national movement began in 1944 under the prominent leadership of the Reverend Billy Graham. Omaha Area Youth for Christ opened its doors twenty years later in January, 1964. Since that time, the Omaha chapter has grown into one of the largest ministry centers in the state of Nebraska. As part of the body of Christ, YFC's vision is to see every young person, in every people group, in every nation, have the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of a local church.
Omaha Area YFC youth professionals currently serve the students and administrations in 4 area high schools and 6 middle schools. Youth for Christ is a non-denominational community-based organization. Six full-time, eight part-time and over one hundred volunteers lead school based Campus Life “club meetings,” large city-wide events, weekly programs in leadership development, bible studies, character development, tutoring and community service/missions trips. Approximately 1,000 area students will participate annually.
The Omaha Area YFC ministry is solely supported by the generous donations of local individuals, churches, corporations and foundations. If you would like to find out more about how to support the ministry, please contact us at:
