Bill left New York in 1974 and moved to Indianapolis at the invitation of Brice Fennig. He worked with both Junior High and High School Kids in Campus Life. He says a Campus Life “Director” tells kids what to do but a “Coach” loves them, encourages them and models Christ for them. Thus, he developed the “coaching” concept with the staff in Indy. He ended up spending over 25 years at Lawrence North High School and had as many as 200 students who were strong student leaders sharing their faith. Some of these were Jeff Deyo, Scott Todd, Larry Becker, and Monica Hurd. He tells how Kent Yost mentored Chris Rickleman, who came to Indy and became the replacement for Bill at Lawrence North in 2011. Bill worked with young people longer than anyone else in – 62years until he was 82 years old!
