Following his time in Wheaton as the National Club Director, Bill was asked in 1969 to move with others to New York City to help pioneer YFC there. They established an office on Long Island. Other participants were Chuck Rigby, Dave Swanson, Marv Wiseman, and Larry Anderson. They raised money by doing Burger Bashes. Tedd Bryson came in later to be the Executive Director. They began bringing in Interns, mainly from Taylor University, including Jack Crabtree, Dave Odle, Howard Taylor and Jim Snellink. Jack ended up staying in YFC 40 years and directing the ministry on Long Island. They got Ron Hutchcraft to direct the New Jersey program. They developed great relationships with the churches by having the Interns work part-time running their youth programs. They made inroads with a clubhouse and meeting house into the troubled Bedford Stuyvesant Area. Lots of kids became believers and many went to Taylor.
