How often does one of our veteran YFC Alumni reach the ripe old age of 100? As far as we know, this is the first time. Evon was involved in YFC from its inception in 1944 to 1962 when he left to follow Ted Engstrom to World Vision. In this 30 minute video Evon was interviewed by Art Deyo and answered the following questions: What is the secret to your longevity? You retired at age 72 - 28 years ago. Most people don’t survive that long after retirement. What is your secret? Since you were born in 1916, what changes in the world have impacted you the most? What was your most memorable event or activity in YFC? What was the most difficult thing you experienced in YFC? In all your decades of ministry, what was the most meaningful experience for you? Did you grow more in the Lord after retirement or during your active ministry? What were some of the most important lessons you learned over your lifetime? Anything else you’d like to share? Forty of us old YFCers met in Pasadena on January 23, 2016 to celebrate Evon’s birthday. He was quite lively and very astute mentally. His actual birthday was January 26, 2016.
