Irene, a native of Taiwan, had training in college on communication with young people over the Internet. In 2000 the Board of Taiwan YFC authorized her to begin an interactive internet program called Walei. They advertised this through the schools, and thousands of young people from all over the world joined. In 2010 there were 150,000 members and in 2014 there are 230,000. They train volunteers that they call “angels” to talk with the youth individually to help them with their problems. Many of them start going to church and some even become believers. They also have role-playing games and make movies to get kids involved in person, and these are a great help to struggling teenagers.
