Jay tells about the transition between President Bob Cook and Ted Engstrom. Ted asked Jay to come on salary in Wheaton, but he and Janie had just built a little “dream house” in South Bend. At first he commuted to Wheaton and stayed in Jack Daniel’s home three nights a week. After a year or so they bought a house in Wheaton back to back with Paul Robbins. He describes how under Sam Wolgemuth’s presidency they separated off YFCI from YFC/USA and later under Jay’s presidency they “diginized the whole world.”
