Emily’s Endless Summer

Hello all!! Emily here – YFCamp Summer Intern.  I’m here to share my summer experiences with you!  Where to begin?!

My internship started at the very beginning of June and since that time I have seen so many beautiful works of God and made three unforgettable friends.  I have climbed a 14,000ft mountain where I saw the Rocky’s mountain range from a bird’s view - it was breathtaking!  I have grown very close to my three fellow interns, as well!  We do almost everything together.  Although, the best part about our friendship is that we can open up and talk about God together without any hesitation.  I have been on so many other adventures during my time here, but the most memorable thus far was my week at camp in Michigan. 

Camp Geneva in Michigan was the first time I have been to a camp or retreat like that in about 2 years.  I forgot what it was like to be apart of something that is so memorable and has the potential to be so spiritually moving to a child.  When the week of camp finally came to a close, 110 kids renewed their relationship with Christ and 20 kids made a first-time commitment!  That alone gave me a reason to celebrate!

Having the opportunity to work and experience Christ moving kids in ways I never would have imagined is such a blessing to me! I can’t wait to see what else this summer has in store and to continue to be a servant of Christ during that time and throughout my life as well!

I ask that you please pray for upcoming camps, that the kids will open their hearts and invite Jesus to walk alongside them through their new journey with Him.
