God is on the Move at NorthBay YFCamps

Today, over 350 campers and leaders are departing after an amazing week at NorthBay high school YFCamp. Located along the shore of Chesapeake Bay, the NorthBay property is beautiful and full of so many activities for campers and leaders, including a water zip line, a scream swing, and a ropes course. It was so fun to see students and their leaders interact with one another as they took risks and tried new things. Each night, campers heard a message from Dave Ramseyer and worshipped with the band Seven Glory. During club, I ran the PowerPoint slides in the back of the room. I love this job because I am able to see all of the campers as they worship. As the week went on, it was amazing to see students open up and become receptive to the music and messages. It is so powerful to watch students and leaders worship alongside one another and raise their hands in praise. Campers who had hardened hearts and were far from God upon arrival to camp came to know Him this week. Many students gave their lives to Christ for the first time, and I cannot wait for us to count the exact number of commitments!

This week was especially awesome for me because my YFC chapter from home was here and I was able to connect with the campers and leaders. It was great to see some familiar faces and spend time with them at meals and during free time. One night during free time, I sat down and had ice cream with one of the campers from my area. Her leader wanted us to connect because of common ground we share in some of our life experiences. We sat and talked, and really connected in a short period of time. We then went on the scream swing together and had so much fun! This hour and a half period of time was the highlight of my week. I am so thankful that God allowed our paths to cross and provided time for us to share some of life together. I cannot wait to connect with her again when we get back home. This experience opened my eyes to how passionate I am about high school students and connecting with them. I continue to become more and more passionate about Youth for Christ’s mission of reaching young people, and I look forward to starting to work with high school students as a volunteer at Campus Life and my church.

In less than 24 hours, campers will be arriving for middle school camp here at NorthBay! I must admit, I am a bit tired, but I know that the Lord will be our strength this week! I cannot wait to see how He moves!

Nonie you made my day! I am so glad that you guys look up to me. When I was you age, I did the same thing to people like Hariette, she was my big sis my first two years! I never thuoght you guys would in turn do the same. Oh man that first picture is Gus and Elijah! SESSION 2 AND 3 BABY! Congrats Brad you made me cry for the third time this year! HAHA! It is SO depressing to have something you have grown to love SO much taken away from you that quickly. Don’t worry Brad i will always come back there. The noog is my home! I mean as the song says I may go away but i’ll never cause this old place is a part of me . In 20 years when i have kids and i am married i am still going to have those memories in my heart nothing can change that. Those experiences that I have had will still influence my life like they have every year. This year I think I truly figured out what the Kanuga spirit is. I think that different people have different meanings that they think are true but they all come back to one thing TRUST! The trust in other people, the trusting the choices you make, and most importantly trusting yourself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart brad. This was the absolute best year for me, and I know that you had a huge role in that. So thank you. I will check the blog when I can.                    product of the noog                   mollie m.
