Pray for Camp
Wow! We are almost ready for take off! Camp starts in two days! Everyone is running around the office trying to finish up the last-minute details. We are all so excited for the summer camp season to begin. Here at the office, we are praying daily for all the students and leaders coming to camp. We cannot wait to see what God is going to do in the lives of each child and adult at camp.
I have been incredibly blessed in my time here in Colorado. God has placed me with a loving and Christ centered family. I have been invited to join in on all of their activities and have been fed some great food! The people I work with are so passionate and hard working. They are all an inspiration. I am learning so much about myself, the struggles people overcome, and God’s love.
God has been working in my funding as well. I set a high goal for fundraising this summer to make sure all expenses would be covered. Family and friends have been so generous and supportive. Not only are people praying for me, but they are also donating financially. With everyone’s help, I am able to go to three different camps - one in Michigan, one in Colorado, and one in Oregon.
I am sure you have heard about the big fires burning in Colorado. Quaker Ridge Camp in Woodland Park, CO, is not in any danger for the time being. However, these fires are springing up all over and are completely unpredictable. There is a fire close to Quaker Ridge, so please keep that camp, the firefighters, and families who have lost homes or been displaced in your prayers. Join us as we pray daily for rain and protection over the homes and people affected.
God has control over the outcome of our lives and has plans for us that we could never dream up ourselves. Philippians 4:6-7 is constantly on my mind and in my heart. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Bring yourself prayerfully before the Lord and follow Christ always.
God Bless,
Sarah Dawley
