Where Everything Changes
Hey everyone! Its Amber Huber-One of the camp interns, also known as Beeze :) Today I am back at the office for the first day after being gone at camp! Camp was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever been through. I got to know a couple of kids and wanted to share some stories about them!
Jack is a young boy who is going into the 8th grade this fall. He was always at the camp store every chance he got. He liked talking to YFC staff and Geneva staff. As the week went on Jack opened up more and more about his life. Jack is adopted along with his brother and sister, and his new family has 3 other children. Jack’s brother just found out he had a brain tumor, and Jack seemed to be handling it okay. He is a very happy kid, who has had a lot of junk happen in his life. It was fun to see him get attention from people, and let loose at club and just have a great time dancing and singing. Jack said yes to Jesus this week, and it is such an amazing thing.
Another kid I got to know is Michael. He also like Jack is going into 8th grade. He seems to have a fairly nice life and didn’t really feel the need to change anything. He was very open to talking with me and one day started to ask me questions about God. It was such an incredible thing to explain how much God loves us, and how we can have a different life full of love. Michael gave his life to Christ this week, and I have never been more proud.
It was such an amazing thing to watch God change lives at camp this week and I am still in awe over how much really did change. I cannot wait to travel to the next camps and watch God transform lives again and again.
Thanks again for all of your support and prayers! Keep checking the blog for more God stories!
