“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”  John 14:13-14.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.”  John 15:7

3 Challenges for Widespread Prayer

1.  I must ‘remain, abide, live’ in Him!!
The first challenge for widespread prayer is that we abide in Christ.  In order for me expect God Almighty to answer my prayers, there must be a living, abiding, growing, passionate relationship with the One who created me.  To remain in Him means there is intimacy that is rivaled by no other.

Question #1.  What does my remaining, abiding, passionate relationship with Jesus look like today??

2.  I must ask in the name of Jesus!!
There is only ONE WAY that I get to ask in the first place, and that is through the one who died on a cross for me, and then rose from the dead.  It is in His Name that I can ask.  As I remain in Him, my prayers will be so much more in tune with His will that my selfish prayers will get out of the way.

Question #2.  Have I really been asking God to answer prayers that need Him?

3.  I must ASK!!
There is only one way for my prayers to be answered, and that is to ask.  If I remain in Him, and I ask in the name of Jesus, the promise is that He Will Answer!!  Holy Cow!  The Creator of the Universe wants me to ask, because He wants to answer!!

Question #3  Have I really been asking the Creator of the Universe to do His work?
