Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 ESV

I write to you today with the words of the above passage ringing in my ears & weighing on my heart.

For many of the teens we work with at YFC the name of Jesus is nothing more than a reference in a cuss word that is normally being yelled at them by an angry parent or relative or obnoxious friend. But for us, we know that the name of Jesus is everything to us because he is our Savior & Lord.

So how does a young person who is accustomed to hearing the name of Christ reviled and is used to living a lifestyle apart from Jesus ever come to confess that Jesus is Lord and Savior? How does a young person who has been far from knowing & loving the Lord come to bow their knee in humble submission and acceptance of the only one who is highly exalted at the right hand of the Father before it is too late? Only through the Father's sovereign movement towards lost people through the Holy Spirit, the faithful witness of Christ followers, & the prayers of the church, will lost teens come to know & love Jesus as their Savior & Lord.

For YFC Core this means keep Sharing stories of how Jesus is moving among your team members and the lost friends you are engaging. Keep Praying for the Spirit to lead you as you grow closer to Jesus and your lost friends. Keep Discovering ways to love your lost friends through relational risks.
