Romans 15:21 “…Those who have never been told about him will see, and those who have never heard of him will understand." quoted from Isaiah 52:15 "And he will cleanse many nations. Kings will stand speechless in his presence. For they will see what they had not been told; they will understand what they had not heard about."

I recognize this scripture is not specifically talking about seeing with your eyes or hearing with your ears, but it struck me this morning as an appropriate description of what we do in YFC Deaf Teen Quest. Deaf students (many of whom have never been told about Jesus) see the gospel in ASL and what they cannot physically hear, they now understand because of the friendship of caring Christian adults in DTQ.

I continue to be in awe of the commitment of our DTQ staff. It is such an honor to lead and empower them for ministry with deaf and hard of hearing young people. For a dozen years now, we have been bringing Grace and Truth through the power of the Holy Spirit as we lift Jesus up. In every conversation I have with DTQ staff, I say a prayer of thanks for the impact they and their leadership teams are having across the country and now in Jamaica. God is so amazing and desires that everyone have an opportunity to see and understand.

Has place a call on your heart for ministry with deaf and hard of hearing young people? Send me an email at bayres@yfc.net and let me know. God is moving in powerful ways across the nation and world. One thing I clearly see and understand, with Jesus, the best is yet to come!
