One of the things I love about YFC is that we focus on our mission and how we are going to accomplish the mission that God has set before us.  It is by no means an easy to task to reach young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other likeminded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.  But I know that we serve a God who can enable and empower His people to complete this task.  God continues to lead and direct the leadership of Youth for Christ.  And that plays down to the local ministry site level.

Youth for Christ believes there are five essentials to establishing Ministry Sites:

  1. Widespread Prayer.  We deliberately engage lots of Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry site.
  2. Loving Relationships.  We consistently pursue lost kids & engage them in life-long relationships with Jesus.
  3. Faithful Bible Teaching.  We accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching kids to apply it to their lives.
  4. Collaborative Community Strategy.  We intentionally work together with local churches, agencies and other partners to provide sustainable youth and family ministry.
  5. Adults Who Empower.  We strategically develop leaders to reach young people from every people group.

Each of these essentials is important in the development of a ministry site, but more importantly in the developing of teens and adults.  Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be exploring each of these essentials a little more and how they are integrated into ministry.
