Position Summary

JOB TITLE: Special Events Intern

Supervisor:  Events Manager

Hours:  10-15 hours/week (6-8 months: Jan-Aug)

GOAL:  To advance the mission of Central Ohio Youth for Christ, including affiliates and subsidiaries, by creating and sustaining champions of the ministry. This is accomplished by helping with the planning, coordinating, and executing of transformational events that highlight how God changes the lives of students we serve.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Responsible to assist with all annual development events: STS Tours, Be the Story (BTS), Over the Edge (OTE), Youth Guidance Golf Marathon (YGGM)
  • Responsible to assist with donor and volunteer data management and other special projects assigned by the Development Director and Events Manager

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

See the Story (monthly) & Be the Story Event (April 24 3024)

  • Assist with recruitment, training, communication, and appreciation of Table Captains (new and returning)
  • Ensure all print media and supplies are available for STS tours
  • Create content for monthly newsletter and communication with table captains
  • Ensure pre/post STS/BTS SOP’s are followed for registration and follow up

Over the Edge (June 14 2024)

  • Assist with all communications (social media/calls/emails/texts) & other creative strategies to recruit new & returning rappellers and volunteers
  • Create content for Edger Newsletter to communicate with sponsors, rappellers, and volunteers
  • Coordinate day-of and post event logistics including: food & equipment pickups, deliveries, set-up & clean up ‘stations’ materials, and special guests/mascots

Youth Guidance Golf Marathon (Sept. 2024)

  • Assist golfers to set up fund-raising pages and manage off-line donations
  • Assist with company sponsorships/logo management on website

Development Team Responsibilities

  • Attend monthly Development Team meetings & Quarterly COYFC All-Staff meetings
  • Represent COYFC at other potential community events as needed

Data Management

  • Enter all relevant event data in DonorPerfect (DP) following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Update or create new Event SOPs to continually improve and streamline execution of events and date management
