Position Summary

GOAL: To advance the mission and vision of Central Ohio Youth for Christ, and

subsidiaries, by mobilizing staff and volunteer teams to achieve our chapter's initiatives

and ministry outcome goals.

KEY OBJECTIVES

● Manage ministry outcomes for the site toward excellence

● Mobilize and lead volunteer ministry teams toward greater fruitfulness

● Participate in chapter-wide fundraising and training efforts

● Serve as a liaison with community-based case management team

● Fulfill staff administrative responsibilities

● Fulfill COYFC spiritual responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage Ministry Outcomes for the Site

● Use data systems and goal-setting to lead your site toward greater effectiveness.

Responsibly manage data in YFC Impact and the Youth Section of the Hub

● Manage all curriculum use to ensure it is aligned to the YFC model

● Consistently communicate via monthly newsletters and daily email

correspondence.

● Create prayer initiatives that ministry leaders can regularly be praying for.

● Take part in all mandatory facility-specific training and coach all volunteer

ministry leaders to complete required training.

● Oversee program quality control for Bible Studies, Chapels, Bible 411, and

individual meetings

● Maintain and grow both current spiritual programing and faith neutral options as

the facilities allow, and seek new opportunities to provide new programs.

Mobilize Volunteer Ministry Leaders and Teams

● Be knowledgeable of the rules and standards at each facility for appropriate

volunteer roles and activities

● Assist COYFC Recruitment Team in recruiting, onboarding, and training all

volunteer ministry leaders at your site, including annual YFC/USA compliance

● Assist with building relational bridges and coordinate the involvement of the local

Christian community to assist with providing services inside and outside juvenile

detention facilities.

● Initiate and develop supportive relationships with court personnel and other

service providers to at-risk youth, in order to form positive collaborations for

COYFC programs for students to engage in.

● Prayerfully lead your team on how to have effective relationships with youth who

are or have been involved with the Juvenile Court System

● Comply with mandatory facility-specific training and coach all volunteer ministry

leaders to complete required and ongoing training for their roles.

● Host regular check-ins with ministry leaders and provide quarterly team meetings

with volunteers for individual growth, encouragement, prayer and trust building

with staff.

Participate in JJM fundraising efforts and YFC See The Story/Be The Story

● Work with supervisor to help achieve individual and team goals

● In collaboration with your supervisor, establish and cultivate local church partners

in the broader community

● Support Development Team chapter fundraising efforts by assisting with JJM

specific needs, and invite a minimum of 4 guests each year to attend a See the

Story or the Be the Story event

● Invite and encourage all volunteer ministry leaders to take part in the annual

Ministry Leader Conference held locally

Liaison for Community-Based Case Management

● Understand and be able to represent QMHS and WSCO community-based

services that are available to JIC administrators in order to meet case

management needs for youth

● Collaborate with WellSpring Counseling community-based case management, if

needed, in order to serve students and connect them to Christian community

Fulfill Staff Administrative Responsibilities

 Diligently work with your supervisor to learn administrative responsibilities,

monthly reporting, time sheets

● Generate regular reporting on ministry results as needed

● Attend and participate in SMT weekly prayer and Friday All Staff prayer meetings

● Complete all onboarding and annual training for your role (online and in-person

classes, book discussions)

● Regularly come to supervision with suggestions and possible solutions

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to

communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their

families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the

Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of

Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
