Our Mission: YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up life-long followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion the the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement.

The 5 Essentials for YFC Ministry Sites

Widespread Prayer: We deliberately engage lots of Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry site.

Loving Relationships: We consistently pursue lost kids to establish authentic, Christ-sharing relationships.

Faithful Bible Teaching: We accurately handle Biblical truth, regularly coaching kids to apply it in their lives.

Collaborative Community Strategy: We intentionally work with local churches and other partners.

Adults Who Empower: We strategically develop leaders to connect to more students. 

The Executive Director is a strategic coach who can lead, inspire and execute the vision of Youth For Christ in their community. The Executive Director must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom-inspired diversity. 

Essential Functions 

Visionary Strategist (20%)

  • Create and Communicate Vision
  • Shape & Execute Strategy
  • In line with YFC USA Processes, Standards and Best Practices:

- Develop and execute a five-year strategic plan for Lansing YFC.

- Develop and execute a yearly marketing plan and execution

calendar that shares the vision of the ministry.

Take regular time for reflection and prayer; listening to and depending on Jesus for His guidance in this role

Team Developer (40%)

Ministry Developer (20%)

  • Authentic Christ-sharing Relationships Focused

Spiritual Responsibilities 

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate, and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, YFC staff are recognized as associate ministers of the Gospel.

As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
  • Model empathy, humility, and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in the word and in the practice of faith expression.
  • Remain actively involved in a local church
  • Additionally, YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Position Requirements

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Significant experience in senior leadership roles at a youth-serving organization, having demonstrated proficiency in many or all of the above areas of responsibility
  • Proven financial management and fundraising acumen
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Integrity, enthusiasm, and an exemplary work ethic
  • Collaborative and inclusive leadership style
  • Positive attitude with an innate ability to devise creative solutions 

Credentials Required & Preferred Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • Minimum of five years related experience is preferred.
