Brian and Melissa Verdugo have a passion for evangelism and discipleship of youth and the development of national leadership. They currently serve in South Africa where they work with at-risk children and in a crisis pregnancy and HIV testing center.
They recently organized a Jesus Film Outreach attended by 85 young people in South Africa. The Jesus Film is a dramatization of the Gospel of Luke. The entire event was done in Afrikaans language. They served cake and soda ahead of time to welcome the youth. Then, after the film, a local leader named Monia presented the Gospel and gave an invitation in Afrikaans.
Thirteen youth accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the first time and 22 recommitted their lives! Brian and Melissa trained decision counselors to be able to counsel the youth as they came forward. They gave Afrikaans Bible studies and Bibles to the new believers who will be discipled.
