Jack Daniel was in on most of the start-up activities of YFC in the 40s. He states that there were 1000 rallies (chapters) spread all over the country, with a huge concentration in the Great Lakes Area. By the time Bob Cook was President, Cedric Sears was the head of Chicagoland YFC and Jack was serving both the local and national offices. He tells how Jack Hamilton left his job in a factory making cement blocks to start working with clubs in the Kansas City Area. When the clubs couldn’t meet in the schools, they met in a school bus. Roy McKeown suggested that YFC hold nationwide conferences in D.C., so all the staff worked on two of these “Capital Teen Conventions” in 1959 and 1962.
