With all the hustle and bustle of a new year don’t drift from the mission. I know this seems impossible, but many times, in very slight ways we begin to drift from the mission.

The mission: YOUTH FOR CHRIST reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.

In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables…  Read all of Acts 6:1-7

There are so many great reasons for helping at a school, spending time with parents and adults in the community, and planning great programs but don’t forget… Our mission is to reach lost kids and form a relationship with them, one that can support the truth of the Gospel, and walk with them in a discipleship relationship.

May we be as wise as the first disciples when they weighed everything they were doing against the ministry of Word of God. They were doing really good “things” but were starting to neglect their mission.

Because of this ruthless intentionality to the mission, may it be said about the campuses we influence, “7So the word of God spread. The number of disciples (in Jerusalem) increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.”

Praying for a great harvest this new school year.
