Myron Bernard | Tacoma, WA

Myron Bernard is passionate about social justice, radical love and seeing young people become leaders who transform their families and community. His heart is to see Christ's body reaching the lost and broken by meeting their spiritual and practical needs. Myron is an experienced ministry leader and has worked in numerous ministry positions with churches and other organizations.

He has worked in business and previous to serving at YFC taught low-income first generation prospective college students reach their goal of attending college. Myron married his wife Holly in 2002. They now have four children - Jubilee, Jacob, Ruby and Joel. After serving as a volunteer for many years, Myron came on staff with Tacoma YFC in 2010 and currently serves as the Ministry Director.

 

Minta Buse | Seattle, WA

Minta has a passion for raising up young people who, through God's power, beat the odds and become leaders and change makers in their communities. Minta has worked for YFC for nine years, and daily strives to leader her staff, interns and volunteers as they walk with families and through really challenging, heartbreaking, and miraculous circumstances. All the while, actively seeking to fulfill their call to racial reconciliation, social justice, advocacy, and preaching God's Word daily in the Seattle area!

Minta is also passionate about her family (especially her two nephews), gardening, snowboarding, hiking, camping, and spending quality time with her friends!

Isaiah 61 is her life anthem.

 

JJ Vancil | Spokane, WA

JJ grew up in the Seattle area before moving to Spokane to attend Whitworth University in 2001. He comes from a family with two loving parents who significantly impacted his spiritual journey. His dad was on staff for Young Life for 35 years and built in JJ a legacy of ministry. After graduating from Whitworth in 2005, he married his wife, Katy, and began to serve as the youth pastor at Shiloh Hills Fellowship in north Spokane. In 2010, he answered the Lord’s call and became YFC’s West Central Ministry Director. That same year, he & Katy became parents to their son, Owen.

JJ is passionate about living out the gospel in hard places and developing sustainable & transformational ministry. He feels deeply connected to the ministry of YFC and grateful to be part of this movement. He recently received a Certificate in Urban Youth Ministry from Fuller Seminary.


In his spare time, he loves playing with his son, finding good restaurants with his bride, shooting hoops, running and reading a good book.

 

Rodney McAuley | Spokane, WA

Rodney's passion is reconciliation across racial, denominational, socio-economic, generational, and gender lines. Prior to YFC, he worked in the business and education sectors. He joined YFC in November 2010, and currently serves as Director of Church and Community Engagement in Spokane. He also serves as YFC's National Prayer Coordinator.

Rodney and his bride, Leslie, have been married since July, 1977. They have four daughters (two biological; two nieces) and two grandchildren.

Rodney's life verses are Jeremiah 29:7 and Acts 1:8.

 

Doug Johnson | Tacoma, WA

Doug Jonson is the City Life Director in Tacoma, and has been with Tacoma YFC for 9 years. He and his beautiful wife, Amy, live in the Hilltop area of Tacoma, where they minister. They have 3 wonderfully unique children, Lucy, Tobey and Andrew, who keep them on their toes, and never have a dull moment.

His passions are spending time with his family, working with youth, gardening, Fantasy Football, and watching the Seahawks.
